Welcome to the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Andorra to the United Nations (UN), the Embassy of Andorra to the United States, to Canada and to Mexico.

I hope the information you find will be of interest. The diplomats and administrative personnel work on the 27th floor of 2 United Nations Plaza building, situated next to the UN headquarters. We are privileged to represent the Principality of Andorra and to directly witness the largest discussion forum in the world, the United Nations, where 192 states have a voice.

The Mission also has the function of an Embassy, hence we attend, in the name of the Andorran State, all meetings and official acts organized by countries or organisations covered by the Embassy which require the presence of the members of the international community. We also organize events, exhibitions and concerts to promote Andorran culture.

The Embassy is at the disposal of Andorrans who live in the accredited countries as well as those who are there temporarily. We facilitate various documents which you can find below, as well as provide any assistance required.

Narcís Casal de Fonsdeviela

How to register an Andorran born abroad on the Civil Register and obtain a passport

Documents needed for the Civil Register (tel. +376 860 575, c/ Dr. Vilanova, 11, 4t – AD500 Andorra la Vella):

  1. Full birth certificate
  2. Photocopy of the passport of the father/mother holding Andorran nationality

The Civil Register issues a document which, together with the following documents, must be presented to the Passport Service of the Andorran Government:

  1. Birth certificate of the father/mother holding Andorran nationality
  2. Full birth certificate
  3. 2 photographs of the child

The Government issues a decree declaring that it authorizes a passport to the Andorran born abroad and the Passport Service prepares the document (in total, this process takes some 15 days). The price is 21.09 €.

Procedure: send the required documentation to the Civil Register.

You personally, or a relation of yours, must first go to the Civil Register to collect the document and then to the “Tràmits” office (Andorran Government) for the child’s passport to be issued. The Embassy can send the registration documentation to the Civil Register.
